I won't lecture you, but WHY ON EARTH do you want them?

Don't think you can get them for a Galaxy. If you really MUST have them, see a steel fabricator.

mmmmm how fetching......

Well they certainly made me fetch anyway.

Bet they work really well with parking sensors.....attractive crunch noise BEFORE the "Casualty" beeeeeeeep of death!!!

Now how about a pair of huuuuge blue driving lights on the front of that as well.... there might even be room for 4...no....6 even!

Even better with the "new" chrome grin from December....

Nice to know that people don't give a sh*t about anyone else, hope you don't get knocked down by the drunken driver, exceeding the speed limit whilst using his mobile phone in his bull bar equipped death machine.

I reckon these "Ballbars" sorry bullbars should be banned and the people who want them be put in the middle of the road and run over by a car that has them.

Then see what happens!!!

It's a tribute to this great country of ours that people still have the freedom to make complete horses' arses of themselves by turning their boring MPVs into something Rambo's mum might drive. If the price of this freedom is a few more pedestrian deaths each year and the rest of us having our aesthetic sensibilites offended, so what?

Bullbars are the thin end of the wedge. If they ban those, what next? They'll be trying to stop us from driving when we're pissed, or with bald tyres. Defend every Englishman's God given right to make a complete prat of himself!

Keep death on the roads, I say! Bullbars - yay! Roof mounted twin Oerlikons - yay! Drink driving - yay!

Sorry, must dash. Matron doesn't like us using the internet and anyway it's time for my medication.

Not just other drivers that Bullbars harm, they prevent the crumple zone from working properly and transfer the impact forces through to the safety cell. Sorry Lucky Charmer but I would love to see these things banned from our roads.

Clearly some people have not lost anyone closely related as a direct result of these obscene devices that serve no purpose whatsoever other than to kill / injure innocent people. How much more irresponsible can you be?

Yes, I was taking the p**s, although obviously not very well.

 seems to be the best one can do for irony, but I guess that if I have to tell everyone that I'm being ironic, I should stick to the day job.

Oh dear, sorry, bad day, very sensitive subject and I've now made a complete prat of myself. Having read it properly, yes it's quite funny, I obviously just saw certain keywords and got into rant and soap box mode.... Sorry !

I would just ask ... why?

Although there is little practical point unless you go off road, I can't see any styling reason what so ever

Yes, these may look OK on a boxy 4x4, but the galaxys shape does not lend itself to this addition.

I have been nearly tempted to fit some to my Hi-Lux, but the extra inches it adds to the front means that you tend to knock them more often than you do your bumper - and there is nothing worse than bent and rusting bullbars.

It reminds me of that VW advert with a new shape golf shown crying when a big air intake was cut into the bonnet.

As someone who has direct experience of the devastation caused by a loss of someone on the road, I feel that when a question is asked about something that is going to be a danger to others, I have to air an opinion. I am just hoping that you will see the error of your judgement on this issue.

Should you have questions about other issues regarding the Galaxy that I can help you with, I will gladly do so.

My views entirely.

And I take exception to being labelled unhelpful by some misguided soul, who clearly has no concept of reality, has no basis to make the statement, nor any social conscience in the wider sense.

Clearly he didn't/doesn't understand that by witholding the relevant information you ARE helping him and all of the rest of us, well done !!

Just a thought and not taking sides here, but...

surely it is not the bullbars, but the 2 tonne of car behind them that is the problem?

Ok, research may indicate that injuries may be worse in any similar accident with rather than without bars.

But it is not the case that a car with bullbars driven by a responsible driver is much much safer that a car without bars driven by an irresponsible driver?

>>But it is not the case that a car with bullbars driven by a responsible driver is much much safer that a car without bars driven by an irresponsible driver<<

What you say is true but not a real comparison, would you not agree that:-

1) Drivers having bull bars fitted to road going MPV's fall into the category of irresponsible and therefore you have a worst case scenario

2) Being hit by a vehicle with bull bars is going to hurt you more than being hit with the same vehicle in the same conditions without the bull bars (especially children)

If you agree with the above I rest my case M'Lud

Tests have shown that an impact with a child pedestrian at 10mph with a bullbar equipped vehicle, will almost certainly result in death or very serious brain injury. Compare that with the figure that the majority of child pedestrians hit by a vehicle not equipped with bullbars at 20mph will survive with minor injuries and I think the case for banning them is pretty much proved. How many drivers of bullbar equipped vehicles, responsible or otherwise are going to drive around at below 10mph. And in case anyone asks, yes I do drive at 20mph in residential areas for the very reason outlined above.
